Meds.krd

A study platform for medical students in Kurdistan: their own lectures, a plan for today, and practice that remembers what each student gets wrong.

The Meds.krd Today screen with sample content: one lecture to read and eight questions to practise.

Why it exists

A general question bank does not know a college’s timetable, its lecturers or its weeks. Meds.krd starts from the students’ own lectures and follows them week by week, in the order they are taught. Many of its students read English as a second language, so a first-time student can manage every everyday job without asking anyone.

What I decided

I keep the pictures from lecture slides private. Each one is stored by a key and shown through a link that expires, because they are crops of a lecturer’s slides, and a link that leaks stays leaked.

I am rebuilding Meds.krd to be simpler, because everyone I showed it to called it complicated.

Meds.krd has more than 5,000 automated tests. I keep an evidence log for Meds.krd: each claim, the date it was checked, how, and what the check does not prove.

The Lecture Machine

Inside Meds.krd, a pipeline turns a lecture into readable parts and practice questions. Several AI models, from different companies, share the work, and none of them checks its own writing. Anything that fails twice waits for a person.

My part

I decide what Meds.krd does and what it leaves out. I designed how it looks and reads, wrote its Kurdish lines and directed the build. Nothing goes live without my yes.

Try it

A small version of the Lecture Machine, with a made-up slide. One AI model writes, and a model from another company checks, so no model checks its own writing.

The autonomic nervous system

  • Sympathetic: fight or flight
  • Heart rate up, pupils wide
  • Parasympathetic: rest and digest
  • Heart rate down, pupils small

CheckerTwo parts and a practice question passed. One line failed twice, so it waits for a person.

Readable parts

  1. PassedThe sympathetic side gets the body ready to act. The heart beats faster and the pupils widen.
  2. PassedThe parasympathetic side calms the body. The heart slows and the pupils get smaller.
  3. Waits for a personThe parasympathetic side also lowers blood pressure. The parasympathetic side also makes more saliva.

Practice question

PassedWhich side slows the heart?Answer: the parasympathetic side.
